This Spark project was informed by the example given at the FDI session. Again, in the spirit of this portfolio, I wanted to create a project that would see the light of day in my teaching rather than simply repeating an exercise. In the spirit of the Juneteenth theme, this project focuses on social justice. But it goes wider than Juneteenth and allows students to connect with issues they feel strongest about.
The brief is to create a social media campaign for an organization advocating for social justice. They must include brand elements across all platforms. Deliverables will consist of:
Spark Post: 1 X FaceBook Post, 1 X Instagram Post
Spark Video: 1 X Instagram Video (15 seconds)
Spark Page: Document the process from initial research to final products.
These are examples of inspirational imagery that students will present as part of their research.

FaceBook Post that combines photography and type in a simple yet impactful way. A hashtag acts as a call to action and encourages the viewer to find out more.

Instagram Post for the same organization. Square format to fit the grid, same hashtag and color palette. Consistency in messaging.

15 second video to be shared on Instagram. Can also work as a pre-roll ad on YouTube. Same message, same hashtag as a call to action.

This Spark Page shows the research and the campaign deliverables. Students would also demonstrate ideation via sketches, thumbnails, etc. They would also include script and storyboard for the video.
